Conflict scanning means to get a clear overview of the general conflict situation and the form of appearance of the individual conflicts in the clinic as well as localizing them. The chief concern is to identify current conflicts, actually to detect those conflicts that currently have negative effects on operating procedures and flow processes in the clinic. In addition such conflicts are to be determined that have compromised the efficiency and quality of work.
Effective conflict scanning is based on systematic proceeding and can be carried out efficiently, i.e. taking as little time and effort as possible, by using adequate methods and support tools. But conflict scanning is not limited to identifying conflicts. Additionally the causes out of which the identified conflicts had grown out should be focused. Thus, conflict scanning does not merely include detecting conflicts, but also a systematic analysis of conflict causes.
